According to the World Socialist Website, The Last Great Strike is "an important book." The reviewers applaud the author, Ahmed White, for his meticulous research and open-minded inquiry, saying that the Little Steel Strike "finally found a worthy historian in Ahmed White" and praising Professor White for "breaking through the academic silence surrounding the" strike "and for a thoroughly researched and honestly presented account of this bloody struggle."
